Originally from Glenwood Landing on Long Island, New York, Dr. Michael has always been fascinated by the power of a confident smile. Her own orthodontic journey began at age 12, when braces transformed her crooked teeth—a change she describes as “a miracle” and the reason she chose a career in orthodontics.
She earned her BS in Biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, followed by both her DDS and MS from the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry in Houston.
Dr. Michael is a certified orthodontic specialist and trained provider of Invisalign® and Vivos treatments.
Dr. Michael is committed to delivering exceptional orthodontic care using the latest techniques, technology, and research. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, American College of Dentists, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
She believes that orthodontics can profoundly impact a person’s confidence and quality of life. As she often says, “Change the smile and change the life.”
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Michael has volunteered her time and expertise to underserved communities, including the Colorado Mission of Mercy (2024), community health fairs, and humanitarian aid missions completed during her 30 years of service in the U.S. Army Reserves.
For Dr. Michael, the heart of great orthodontic care is trust and respect. She believes patients should feel confident that she is providing the best, most up-to-date care—something she ensures through ongoing continuing education each year.
She values open communication and encourages patients to share their goals and concerns so treatment can be truly collaborative. Her commitment is to honor each patient’s wishes while offering the expertise needed to achieve beautiful, long-lasting results.
Dr. Michael loves calling Maryland home—especially since her daughter lives nearby—and enjoys the area’s four seasons and rich history. She and her husband share their home with their beloved “kids”: Rambler, a Shetland Sheepdog, and Janey, their spirited Calico cat.
Outside the office, she enjoys crafts, reading, kayaking, snow skiing, and hiking. She’s also proud that her son is a dentist in Manhattan, while her daughter practices law in Ellicott City.
Schedule a new patient exam and cleaning. We're ready to make your child's first dental visit an enjoyable one!
